Long Island Rail Road was hit with delays and cancellations along the Port Washington line last night when a woman was hit and apparently pinned by a train at the Douglaston station in Queens.

According to Newsday, the woman was struck at 9:20 p.m. by the eastbound 8:48 p.m. train, with the MTA explaining that the "train that struck the woman was canceled at Douglaston and passengers were transferred to buses." Patch adds, "Service was suspended in both directions pending an MTA Police investigation. One track was cleared and limited service restored at 10:11 p.m." Service is normal this morning.

The woman, whom officials characterized as an "unauthorized person on the tracks," was taken to Long Island Jewish Medical Center in New Hyde Park.
