Woman hospitalized after possible Rockaway Beach shark attack: FDNY

The FDNY says a call came in around 6 p.m. with reports of a "serious" injury near Rockaway Beach.
A woman was rushed to the hospital Monday after what authorities said may have been a shark attack in the waters off of Rockaway Beach.
A spokesperson with the FDNY confirmed a woman was taken to Jamaica Hospital in serious but stable condition with what appeared to be a shark bite to the leg. The incident happened just before 6 p.m., officials said.
The woman has not yet been identified.
The FDNY is not updated on patient conditions. A request to the city Parks Department was not immediately returned.
