"One thing this experience has not done is shake my trust and belief in him as a man," she continued while the beautiful flowers bobbed in the wind beautifully.

Umbrella etiquette fiend Allison Williams broke her legendary silence on her father, embattled NBC news host Brian Williams, at an event at the 92Y last night. During the Q&A, host Seth Meyers gently brought up the subject, and Williams, unsurprisingly, defended her father: "Yeah, this has been a really hard time...I can’t wait until he’s back on TV, and I know that many of you guys feel that way," Williams said, presumably while stuffing her ears with beautiful flowers to drown out the beating drum of reality.
"One thing this experience has not done is shake my trust and belief in him as a man," she continued while the beautiful flowers bobbed in the wind beautifully. "He’s a really good man, an honest man, a truthful man — he has so much integrity and so much respect for journalism," she added, not mentioning whether her father too has stuffed his ears with beautiful flowers. "And yes, he’s a really good dad. But I know you can trust him because, as any good daughter does, I’ve tested him on that so many times."
Oh? Tell us more about these tests. Via the Post:
Allison recalled that in 2003, “when he was in Iraq … I was in ninth grade and there was a father-daughter dance … before he left he said he would be back in time.” But, “As the day was coming, it didn’t seem like he was going to make it as he had promised … I was so upset and I got a surprise call from my dad from Iraq, and he was asking if I had a date to the dance. So that’s the kind of man he is. I can’t wait until he’s back on TV and I know many of you guys feel that way. Thank you for all your support.”
There you have it: Brian Williams once called his daughter from a war zone because he missed a father/daughter dance. How that was a test, we're not sure, but that may just be because we too have stuffed our ears with beautiful flowers, and it's making us very dizzy.
There was at least one other unexpected consequence of the Williams fiasco: Allison has had to delay her wedding to CollegeHumor's Ricky Van Veen. "You sort of think, 'What could possibly come along that would make me not think about this?' And then I get Peter Pan and I think, 'Okay, I will think only about Neverland and then we'll go back to planning our wedding,'" she said. "Then current events started happening, so that derailed it a little bit, but it has been this really beautiful through-line in our lives. It's just something we haven't focused on, but, spoiler alert, we are excited!"
Gee thanks Allison, you couldn't give us more advance warning with that spoiler alert? Celebrity wedding RUINED.
