More than 25,000 runners will take part in the NYCRuns Brooklyn Experience Half-Marathon (not to be confused with the New York Road Runners’ Brooklyn Half Marathon — that was a whole thing), according to organizers. The event kicks off at 5 a.m. Sunday, but the NYPD plans to start shutting down streets at 6 p.m. on Saturday.
The route, which runs from McCarren Park to Prospect Park, includes long stretches along the Williamsburg waterfront, Downtown Brooklyn and Prospect Park.
Specific road closures are as follows, according to the city Department of Transportation:

- Nassau Avenue between Berry Street and Lorimer Street/Bedford Avenue
- Lorimer Street between Bedford Avenue and Driggs Avenue
- Driggs Avenue between Lorimer Street and North 12th Street
- North 12th Street between Driggs Avenue and Berry Street
- Bedford Avenue between North 12th Street and Lorimer Street/Nassau Avenue
The race and its affiliated festivities will last until 2 p.m., with pick up and breakdown waves happening as runners finish portions of the course.
