Police search for man who slashed woman in Harlem subway station

The NYPD says a woman was waiting for a downtown A train when she got into an argument with an unknown man and was slashed in the face.

Police are searching for a man they say slashed a 37-year-old woman in the face with a razor blade after an argument on the downtown A train platform at 125th Street and St. Nicholas Avenue in Harlem.
The incident took place at 11 p.m. on Tuesday, officials said. The woman was treated at St. Luke’s Hospital, a police spokesperson said.
The woman did not know her attacker, who fled shortly after the incident, according to a police complaint.
So far this year, there have been 70 felony assaults in Manhattan north of Midtown. It’s a significant increase from 56 over the same period last year and the highest number of felony assaults since 1999, according to police statistics.
