Dude, have you ever heard of these "Barstool Blackout" parties? Oh, they sound siiiiiick! Basically, this company Barstool Blackout will come to a college town and throw the most epic rager ever, and everybody gets slaughtered because no buzzkill wet blankets from the college administration are involved. Some critics say these parties encourage young adults to drink to excess, but c'mon—check out this video of the Barstool Blackout party in Miami!

Sure, some people may look at that video and say, "The horror, the horror." Others may say these parties promote "rape culture." In fact, in Boston University students recently demonstrated against the Barstool Blackout phenomenon. But on Long Island, a Blackout Party that drew 1,600 people to the Paramount club in Huntington last Saturday went off without a single reported rape. Sure, nine people had to be hospitalized mostly because of alcohol poisoning, but if you're gonna make a legendary party omelette you gotta break a few weak eggs.

Just ask Hofstra student Connor McBride, who tells NBC New York, "It was one of the best times I had at college." (At least, what he remembers of it.) Now, we know you're probably thinking, "Gothamist, why are you torturing us with stories about these transcendent parties on Long Island and Boston when we can't experience the magic for ourselves here in NYC?" Well, you're in luck—on March 30th, Roseland Ballroom will host its own Barstool Blackout party. Unfortunately, it's sold out, with tickets starting at $100 on StubHub. BUT WAIT! Tickets are still on sale for the Barstool Blackout party in September. And guess what you guys? This one is a FOAM party.
