Police are searching for two suspects after a "brazen" attack in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx left six people injured, including a mother and daughter caught in the crossfire.

Police are investigating after six people were shot in two shootings just blocks away from each other in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx on Monday.

Six people were injured in a shooting on White Plains Road in the Williamsbridge section of the Bronx Monday evening, including a 40-year-old mother and her 12-year-old daughter who were used as shields during the attack, police said.

The violence erupted just before 5 p.m. when two shooters opened fire on a group outside a convenience store at 3544 White Plains Rd., the NYPD said. As members of the group fled inside, one of the intended targets grabbed the mother and used her as a human shield, according to NYPD Chief of Patrol John Chell.

“This was a brazen and heartless attack on innocent New Yorkers,” Chell said at the scene. “And cowardly intended victims used a mother as a shield.”

The mother was shot in the stomach, and her daughter was hit in the leg, Chell said. Four young men, aged 18 to 21, were also injured with gunshot wounds to their arms and legs, according to police.

All six victims were taken to a nearby hospital, authorities said. They were all in stable condition as of Tuesday morning, according to an NYPD spokesperson.

Surveillance video shows the suspects, described as two men wearing dark clothing — a black Nike sweatsuit and a gray hoodie — firing at the group before fleeing, authorities said.

“[This was] a crowded store with Bronx community members shopping in that store, getting shot by these shooters," Chell said.

Police are urging anyone with information to call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-577-TIPS.

Detectives are investigating the incident and working to identify the intended targets, police said.
