After yesterday's Giants game, a man leaving MetLife Stadium fell 21 feet from an escalator. According to the Star-Ledger, "A small stage set up near Met Life Stadium's Verizon Gate broke the man's fall and prevented him from landing on a concrete sidewalk."

Many people witnessed the incident—and some thought the man died—however State Police say that the man is in critical condition, after suffering a head injury.

NJ State Police spokesman Sgt. Adam Grossman said, "The cause of the accident is still under investigation. It is unknown at this time why he fell." In 2007, eight people were injured when an escalator at the old Giants Stadium malfunctioned—one man lost part of his leg and the incident was settled last year. In 2008, a man died after falling from an escalator at Shea Stadium.
