Man Allegedly Groped Woman On Brooklyn N Train Before Attempting To Rape Her

Police are looking for a man who groped a woman on the N train, followed her off of the train in South Brooklyn, and then attempted to rape her on the sidewalk, according to the NYPD.

The 39-year-old woman was riding a southbound N train shortly after 4 a.m. on Friday, May 5th, when a man approached her and "engaged her in conversation," police said. The suspect, who police believe is in his early 20s, then allegedly groped her breasts. The woman quickly left the train at the Bay Parkway stop, but the man allegedly followed her, continuing to try to speak with her.

The woman was outside of a deli at 6409 Bay Parkway near 65th Street in Mapleton when the man allegedly grabbed her arms and "tried to drag her down," according to the NYPD. The woman fell to the ground, and the man allegedly climbed on top of her, pinned her arms down, and attempted to rape her. He got up and ran from the scene when the woman called out for help.

No arrests have been made as of Thursday morning. The man is believed to be 5'4" to 5'6", and between 150 and 175 pounds. He was last seen wearing a sweater, white T-shirt and blue jeans. The NYPD supplied video footage of the suspect, below.
