A city elementary school employee was arrested Monday night and charged with rape, sexual abuse and child endangerment for having a relationship with an underage girl, police said.

Jamall Russell, 29, worked as a teaching assistant at PS 97Q, the Forest Park School. NYPD officials said Russell had a sexual relationship with a 14-year-old girl at another school for a few months. She is now 15, police said.

The girl’s mother reported the incidents to law enforcement, police said.

His arraignment was expected for Tuesday morning in Queens Criminal Court.

“This alleged behavior is very troubling and completely unacceptable," said city Department of Education spokesperson Jenna Lyle in an email. "This employee is suspended pending the outcome of the arrest and if convicted, we will pursue their termination. There is nothing more important than the safety and well-being of our students.”
