Crown Heights Fire Leaves 1 Dead, 3 Critically Injured

There were no working smoke alarms on the scene, cites multiple reports.

A fire in Crown Heights this morning left one person dead and three critical condition, according to an FDNY spokesperson. The FDNY arrived on the scene of a fire at 291 Buffalo Avenue, at the corner of Eastern Parkway, at 6 a.m., four minutes after the call to the fire department.
NY1 reports that over 130 firefighters responded to the scene. Four people were removed from the second floor, AM New York reports. Multiple outlets report that there were no working smoke alarms at the scene. Four firefighters also sustained minor injuries, according to an FDNY spokesperson. The fire is currently under investigation.
The FDNY has set up a fire safety booth on Eastern Parkway today in response.
