3-year-old killed in Queens hit and run

A 3-year-old was struck and killed by a car in Queens Wednesday night, leaving police searching for the driver who fled the scene.

According to NYPD officials, Quintus Chen was crossing in front of a white 2014 Infiniti at around 6:30 p.m. near College Point Boulevard and 41st Avenue in Flushing.

Police said Chen was fatally struck when the car pulled away from the curb. He was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Queens, where he was pronounced dead.

An NYPD spokesperson said she didn't know if the boy's parents were nearby at the time.

The driver of the Infiniti did not remain on the scene, according to police, who found the empty car several blocks away.

The incident was still under investigation Thursday morning, and no arrests had been made.
