Two New York City employees were arrested on gang assault charges on Monday in connection with a street attack on former New York Gov. David Paterson and his stepson over the weekend, according to the NYPD.

Police identified the suspects as Diamond Minter, 34, and Travor Nurse, 40, and said both worked for the New York City Housing Authority. Their arrests followed those of two boys, a 12- and a 13-year-old, who also face gang assault charges stemming from the incident, which authorities said happened on the Upper East Side on Friday night.

Paterson, 70, had reportedly been on a walk with his 20-year-old stepson, Anthony Chester Sliwa, when they were attacked by the group, according to the former governor’s spokesperson, Sean Darcy. He said Paterson and Sliwa were "able to fight off their attackers."

Both Paterson and Sliwa were treated at Weill Cornell Medical Center and released on Saturday morning, officials said.

NYCHA spokesperson Michael Horgan said the case was an active NYPD investigation. He also said the pair did not report to work.

Attorney information for Minter and Nurse was not immediately available.
