This Enormous Outdoor Bar Just Opened In Ridgewood & Looks Like A Summertime Paradise

Nowadays opened last night, and offers wine, beer, sangria, ping pong, and plenty of grass to sit on.
Last night a new spot opened in Ridgewood, this time far off the Seneca Avenue stretch that's seen a number of openings this year. This one is right on the border of Bushwick, in a more industrial area, but you'll feel like you're in the country. Nowadays is like a giant, suburban backyard, with plenty of picnic tables, a giant open gravel yard, and grassy hills. There's a ping pong table, checkers, and other games, too.
While there's little shelter aside from umbrellas and pop-up tents if it rains—the place—run by Justin Carter, Eamon Harkin and Botanica's Mark Connell, according to Grub Street—does have just about everything else. On the menu you'll find items like burger ($9) + fries ($4), pulled pork + grilled corn, as well as vegetarian and vegan options like grilled cheese and avocado salad.
For drinks, you'll find beers from Queens Brewery, sodas from Brooklyn Soda Works, wine, sangria, and more.
They'll be open Thursdays 4 p.m. to midnight, Fridays 2 p.m. to 2 a.m., Saturdays noon to 2 a.m., and Sundays noon to midnight—the kitchen will stay open until an hour before closing every night. Note: There is no indoor area, but there are bathrooms—these are in a full, air conditioned trailer with individual stalls, flushing toilets, etc.
Nowadays is located at 56-06 Cooper Avenue near Wyckoff. The entrance is very discreet, so keep your eyes peeled.
