Inside Crave Fishbar, Midtown's Elegantly Rustic Seafood Spot

Here's Crave Fishbar, which opened last week across the street from Crave Ceviche Bar, a popular neighborhood restaurant destroyed in the 2008 midtown crane collapse.
Todd Mitgang and Brian Owens were doing well running the Crave Ceviche Bar in midtown back in 2008, and then a freaking crane fell on it. But they're back in business with Crave Fishbar, now serving fresh seafood in midtown Manhattan. The 60-seat space is housed in a 19th century townhouse across the street from their former location, and features salvaged materials from the original restaurant and custom made chairs and tables created by Recycled Brooklyn. But the focal point, for many, will be the beautiful 25-foot bar that dominates the space and serves the full dinner menu.
Those who liked the original Ceviche Bar will be happy to see the return of the spicy tuna on plancha grilled yucca with lime butter and toasted nori. The new additions to the menu include a house-smoked bluefish with butter lettuces, heirloom carrots, local radishes and dill; and vinegar fried Amish chicken leg with Adirondack cheddar Israeli couscous and a sweet and spicy pepper relish.
