Hop Aboard Pilot, The New Floating Oyster Bar In Brooklyn Bridge Park

Hats off to the team behind Grand Banks—one of the city's fleet of floating bars—who gave NYC not one but two new spots to sip champagne and slurp oysters this summer. First, they opened Island Oyster on Governors Island and now have debuted their second boat restaurant, Pilot, which is docked at Pier 6 in Brooklyn Bridge Park for the season.

Alex and Miles Pincus have transformed a historic 1920s racing schooner—"once the longest serving pilot ship in American history," we're told—into a chic drinking and dining establishment. Two bars wrap around the ship's masts (one for drinks, one for oysters) and tables in between boast views out into the Financial District, the harbor, and back into Brooklyn.

Expect tons and tons of oysters along with dishes like tomato and watermelon salad, lobster rolls, crab claws and scallop ceviche courtesy of chef Kerry Heffernan, the original chef at Eleven Madison Park. (Expect a long wait for a seat, too.) Cocktails are ocean themed, like the "Life at Sea" with vodka, blackberries, mint and lime.
