Last night Stephen Colbert returned to The Colbert Report following some time off he took to spend with his mother, Lorna Tuck Colbert, who died last week. To start off the broadcast he gave a touching tribute to his mom, who was 92 years old at the time of her death—he said, "It may sound greedy to want more days with a person who lived so long, but the fact that my mother was 92 does not diminish it only magnifies the enormity of the room whose door has now quietly shut."
