The first of fourteen weddings to happen at the Empire State Building this Valentine's weekend went down this morning. They tell us this was the "first ever wedding at the Empire State Building’s 86th floor Observatory," though this is the 16th year the Knot has been holding their weekend-long event. Previous weddings, and the rest of this weekend's, are held on the 61st floor.
Last year we talked to Jessica Chesnutt and Natalie Sauro, who had their commitment ceremony atop the building one year ago. At the time they told us, "The whole day was a whirlwind. We were secluded from the other couples and the tourists for the whole preparation and ceremony. Everything seemed very normal as far as weddings go, with the exception of all the news cameras and reporters. It wasn't until we went to the Observation Deck for photos that we were bombarded with curious crowds."
If you could get a free wedding out of it, would you have your big day in the landmark building with press swirling around?
