The best looks from the Barclays Center last night.
Dreams came true for many newly minted professional basketball players at the NBA Draft last night at Barclays Center and, as always, there were some fascinating fashion choices! While there were no Dr. Evil sightings, there were lots of shiny suits, perplexing patterns, a touch of normcore and a whole lot of bow ties.
First overall pick Andrew Wiggins, who will play for the Cleveland Cavaliers, donned an impressive floral-patterned suit jacket that made a statement despite its black-and-white color. Adreian Payne (Atlanta Hawks) was also a favorite, sporting fuschia trousers paired with a pale blue checked sports coat, accessorised with a pink-and-blue pocket handkerchief, pink rosette pin and a white bowtie.
There wasn't a dry eye in the house when the NBA symbolically drafted Isaiah Austin, a Baylor player recently diagnosed with Marfan Syndrome, a connective-tissue disorder that will make it impossible for him to continue to play. Austin looked very dapper in a three-piece navy blue suit accented with a cheerful red pocket square.
Other notable looks include Nik Stauskas's (Sacramento Kings) patterned suit, Tyler Ennis (Phoenix Suns) rocking the double-breasted suit and Doug McDermott (Chicago Bulls) really owning the normcore trend (or his Mom dressed him, who knows).
