BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! has announced the schedule for its 46th annual festival of free summertime concerts at the Bandshell in Prospect Park, which runs from June through August and features a total of 18 events, including a film screening.

The season kicks off on June 8 with a family-friendly performance from DJ crew The Halluci Nation and hip-hop artist Xiuhtezcatl.

Executive Director Saidah Blount said the long-running festival is known for its diverse programming, and that this year is no exception.

“We support emerging artists, indie talent, legacy artists, and performers from all around the world, including all genres and subgenres,” Blount said.

The Bandshell will host a Juneteenth party featuring DJ Spinna, DJ Merlin Bobb and singer Monique Bingham on Wednesday, June 19.

Later that month, BRIC will team up with NPR’s Tiny Desk Concerts to host a performance featuring the next winner of the annual Tiny Desk Contest, who will share the stage with Thee Sacred Souls and Adi Oasis on Saturday, June 22.

Other headliners include punk legends Fishbone, Afrobeat bandleader Seun Kuti (son of Fela Kuti), Meshell Ndegeocello, Charlotte Adigéry, and more.

BRIC will screen Spike Lee’s 1989 film “Do the Right Thing” and host a panel discussion on Saturday, July 6.

BRIC Celebrate Brooklyn! events are free, but RSVPs on its website are encouraged. The full list of summer shows is available here.
